Poster design for the Latino Hispanic Art Student Council exhibition Variedades.

Typography

I was inspired by the typeface used for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. The vibrant use of lines is eye-catching and draws the viewer in.

Color

I chose the color purple as it’s often associated with honor in Hispanic culture and I wanted to honor the work of the Latino-Hispanic artists showing off their work at the exhibition.

The shaded blocks represent the concept of the variety of subcultures visible within the overarching Latino-Hispanic culture.
